Course
TOEFL Preparation
Twelve exam-style tasks across the four TOEFL skills, with recorded speaking answers and written responses marked by a teacher.
Course overview
Twelve exam-style tasks, grouped the way the TOEFL iBT itself is: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. Each one is timed, each one is marked, and each one tells you where you stand before you sit the real thing.
What is inside
- Reading — a vocabulary completion exercise and two comprehension passages, one everyday and one academic, each against the clock.
- Listening — conversations, campus announcements and a full academic lecture, with the questions that follow each recording.
- Speaking — a listen-and-repeat drill and a study-abroad interview. You record your own answers and a teacher listens to them.
- Writing — sentence building, an email to a professor, and an academic discussion post, each with a word count to reach before you can hand it in.
How it is marked
The reading, listening and sentence-building tasks are marked the moment you submit, with the answer key shown afterwards. Your spoken answers and your longer writing go to a teacher, who listens or reads and comes back with a grade and a comment — those are the parts no automatic marker can judge honestly.
Before you start
Recording your voice needs a microphone and your explicit permission, which you are asked for once, in the app, before the first take. You can see what you have submitted at any time.
